[Thing is with the moon; it's completely lifeless compared to any of the other places he's been. Venus is packed and crammed with an array of life, from the thick jungles to the Fallen and Vex that swarm its surface. Earth has a vast variety despite what hell the Darkness unleashed on it during the Collapse. By all means he knows Mars has more life from the tales Kell has told.
Yet the moon is depleted and devoid of any real color. Nothing saying that life was there in the first place. Hollowed and collapsed buildings, craters, and cracks.
Underneath the surface though? That's where all of the movement was at with Hive having buried deep underneath its skin. An infestation far worse than the inklings on Earth clashing with the Devils and Kings. Hopefully they'll be no shows throughout this whole time.
It was a simple recovery mission. A fellow guardian has gone dark for the past couple of days straight now. So Vanguard wanted them located. Relatively simple hopefully.
At least that's what he hopes.
So the hunter transmats down onto the surface and rolls his shoulders, watching his tracker for movement. Nothing. Though he should've expected that at the last place the guardian transmitted from. Now he waits for the rest of the team to join up. It wasn't going to be a simple run around in the cosmodrome. Time to step up and show that the fireteam was a capable one.]

Date: 2015-10-09 08:49 pm (UTC)She transmats down onto the planet nearby and walks towards boss. This should be easy, a simple check-in on a guardian that likely got distracted while patrolling. It happens to the best of them and even she loses track of time when they're out and about in the Cosmodrome. ]
Do we need our sparrows?

Date: 2015-10-09 08:57 pm (UTC)Still, the ground beneath them is solid enough, and he's come a long way since he first encountered the Hive. They'll be better equipped this time, if anything happens.]
I'm not seeing any movement on our trackers. Any sign of our titan on the comms?

Date: 2015-10-09 09:03 pm (UTC)In far more eloquent terms: the moon is an awful place that's brimming with things making attempts to kill would-be guardians, it's quiet, and it's too still. There's something so particularly off about it that makes it so disconcerting to be there.
Maybe the fact that he'd rezzed there had irrevocably coloured his opinions of the place, that could be it to, but Liam isn't thrilled to be on patrol. He's less thrilled to know that they're doing a search mission, because even though there's probably nothing wrong, it still seems incredibly eerie. It makes his skin crawl, and though he's reticent to let anyone else know, he'd much rather be back on Earth. Hell, he'd rather be back facing the knight than this.]
Nothing.

Date: 2015-10-09 09:13 pm (UTC)[There's a deep doubt that buries itself in the back of his mind that that was how this was going to end. It was never that simple so he goes with looking over to Annalise and giving an affirmative nod. His sparrow being pulled up before ordering Shade to scan for lingering traces.]
Watch out for Exiles.

Date: 2015-10-11 03:49 am (UTC)At James' confirmation, her sparrow is summoned and she's on it, ready to follow his lead. ]
Are they still out in force with the Hive here?

Date: 2015-10-11 06:03 am (UTC)Maybe they'll have neutralized themselves for us?

Date: 2015-10-11 05:20 pm (UTC)Seriously, screw the moon.]
Should be. I mean, fallen are like roaches right? Hard to exterminate completely.
[A joke, but there's little humor to it. He does summon his sparrow though, nodding to James.]
On your mark?
no subject
Date: 2015-10-11 05:52 pm (UTC)Still a threat though and needed to be accounted for. Be easy enough to handle.]
Depends on the area really. Hive like to be underground more so than the surface so Exiles will everywhere but the entrances.
...that's one way to look at it.
[A returned nod to the titan and he syncs a nav point. Shade picked up traces of activity in an outpost. That'll be their best bet for now.]

Date: 2015-10-12 06:14 am (UTC)[ Why would the Exiles even want to set up that close to the Hive? And wouldn't the Hive push harder to keep them away? They must not clash too much in those regions if the Fallen are able to maintain their bearings there.
But they have a destination now. Not the best one since she has no interest in seeing that kind of darkness again, but she awoke to the sounds of Vex and Fallen fighting below her. Hopefully they won't have to go much farther than the nav point. ]

Date: 2015-10-12 06:23 am (UTC)He summons his sparrow and follows everyone to their heading. At least he knows how to fly one of these so he doesn't embarrass himself.]

Date: 2015-10-12 08:05 am (UTC)At the very least, the areas are somewhat familiar, even if he's reticent to admit such. It makes the journey a hell of a lot smoother, though.]

Date: 2015-10-12 10:41 pm (UTC)So far no Fallen or Hive. Good.]
There's one off route of here but unless we have to, no one get it near it.
[He slows the sparrow down until he sits in front of a large building, two smaller ones off to the front of it. All three bore the signs of Fallen occupation with the bright orange lights and markings. However no sign of Exiles around.
Dismounting, the hunter checks the nav point. This was it. Now to find some clues as to where the missing guardian had gone off to.]

Date: 2015-10-13 06:07 am (UTC)And it's quiet. Where are the signs of life? It's too eerie for her liking and she shivers as she gets off her sparrow. She's almost dragging her feet as she heads up the ramp onto one of the platforms. ]
I wasn't planning on going near it.

Date: 2015-10-13 07:11 pm (UTC)[He doesn't like going inside buildings. Not when there might be Hive. Still, he's not going to let James go in alone when they should be working as a team. Pulse rifle at the ready, he follows the hunter inside.]
no subject
Date: 2015-10-13 09:25 pm (UTC)At least this time he's got a good gun, and a good team.]
Rodger.
[But they have to hunt, and so hunt he does, treading carefully along the perimeter of one of the buildings, trying to assess the threat. No movement, so he spares a look inside, and when there's nothing still, head in.]

Date: 2015-10-13 09:55 pm (UTC)There's a drop down and he jumps to the floor before, listening carefully for anything remotely Fallen. However there was nothing. But someone had been in here, foot prints lead towards a control console with a discarded synth packet nearby.]
He was here. Now where did he run off to though?
no subject
Date: 2015-10-15 12:49 am (UTC)Do you think he went...?
[ Her gaze drifts towards the path that leads far away. To the Hive. To where even the light can't follow them. ]
no subject
Date: 2015-10-15 05:26 am (UTC)Well, what was the console used for last?
[Stepping forward to the device, he presses a few keys to wake it up. Wisp hovers at his side in case he needs help.]

Date: 2015-10-16 11:31 pm (UTC)[No one smart, really. The moon is a terrible place, and there are terrible things that lurk in the shadows. Better to stick to somewhere filled with safe hiding spots, like the buildings.
Thankfully there are no fallen at the time being, at least in the building that he's chosen to investigate, but that doesn't mean that there couldn't be something worse.]
no subject
Date: 2015-10-17 12:37 am (UTC)[He heads back to the entrance, pulling himself back up with ease before glancing around. No Fallen but that still didn't rule out a possible skiff coming through. That or worse a ketch.]
Stay with the warlock. Keep this place secure.
[His handcannon is switched out for his rifle before he starts walking towards the nearly dismantled solar panel dome on the nearby hill.]

Date: 2015-10-17 07:40 pm (UTC)He could have gone down there. If he had to. [ A secret mission? Something the vanguards didn't want them to know about? Or maybe he was chased down there... She shakes her head, as if to remove those thoughts.
Surely that couldn't have happened. The guardian has to be roaming around somewhere far far away from the underground. ]

Date: 2015-10-18 07:31 pm (UTC)[Waking up the machine takes a minute, and ultimately, he does need Wisp to decrypt the security so the pages will open.]
It looks like he was after a place called the--Temple of Crota? Supposedly it's up past the Anchor of Light. Maybe that's where he went.

Date: 2015-11-01 04:35 am (UTC)[At least as far as he's concerned, but he's much more comfortable with staying back and keeping guard than venturing forth. It may seem like the easy way out, but nothing about the moon inspires bravery in him, and playing the coward is fine with him.]
